Guide: Martha Jones goes for her thank you trip in the TARDIS with the Doctor to the time of William Shakespeare. They go to see a play of his, and befriend him while he writes his next one.
But the Carrionites were set to release their kind by using Shakespeares words. They made him write a different ending to his play, one which would do what they wanted.
The Doctor finds out what the Carrionites are up to and sets about to fix it, but by the time he ends up at the Globe Theatre, he is almost too late. He starts shouting random words, along with William Shakespeare to try and close the portal which will release the Carrionites, but they get stuck on the final word when Martha Jones says "Expelliarmus" and the portal closes.
As the Doctor and Martha are about to leave, Queen Elizabeth the First enters to see Shakespeare, when instead she finds the Doctor, and orders his execution. He does not know what for though. Yet.
