Try this sort of thing with aldi's thermal under gear cheap and effective. I've got a spada jacket that I've used off road in torrential downpours and although it got heavy it kept my dry.

Well as for gear, I had summer leathers and gloves and errrrm summer leathers and gloves, and yes I got very cold if I went out in the winter haha
