Guide: On the 3rd of December, 1926, famous crime writer Agatha Christie disappeared for 11 days. No one knows why, or what happened, for when she was found in a Harrogate hotel, she had no memory of what had happened.
This was the setting for the 7th episode of the 4th series of Doctor Who. The Doctor and Donna land on the day that Agatha disappeared, in the middle of a tea party in the lawns of Lady Eddison's home.
As a murder happens within the home of Lady Eddison, it is down to the Doctor, Donna and Agatha to solve it, but of course Donna, not being an experience time travller yet, keeps blurting out book titles for books that Agatha has yet to write.
As the mystery unfolds, more murders happen, and each time a strange buzzing is heard, and items go missing from the house. An elusive burgular is also on the loose. But it is when everyone is sat together that the mystery deepens further.
One of the posh young ladies, turns out to be the elusive burgular. But not the murderer. The husband of Lady Eddison can walk, even though he's been in a wheelchair for years. The visiting priest is found to have reprimanded two boys who had broken into the church to steal and finally, Lady Eddison was found to have gone on holiday to India, and fell in love with a man, who turned out to be an alien wasp in human form.
The human wasp was drowned in the monsoon in India after Lady Eddison left, but she bore his child. But being from British desent, she could not keep the illegitimate child, and so gave it up for adoption. The child, was also the priest, and it turned out he had done more than reprimand the two boys.
He had been very angry. So angry, he unlocked a dormant gene within him, the wasp gene, and he killed the two boys, along with others in the household of Lady Eddison. It is found though, that it has come after an alien jewel that Lady Eddison owns. But rather than hand it over willingly, Agatha takes it, and drives off to a lake.
The Doctor and Donna give chase, and catch them at the lake, with the wasp flying overhead, trying to get the jewel. Donna takes the jewel and throws it in the river, which the wasp follows, and drowns. Agatha then faints, and the Doctor knows that amnesia will be caused by the whole events.
The episode ends with the Doctor and Donna, standing by the TARDIS outside a Harrogate hotel with Agatha walking away, looking lost and confused. The Doctor explains about her disappearance, and says that her car was found by the lake, and she turned up 11 days later in a Harrogate hotel, with her memory wiped. But some thoughts trickled through, as the Doctor proves when he shows Donna a book Agatha wrote, about a giant wasp.
