The Artist Formerly Known As Timetrial
#1
Morning Ladies

I'm one of the original Monkeys from the old forum but my involvement has since lapsed due to not owning a bike for the last few years. Also been involved in bikes in a number of interesting ways that didn't involve having to get on one but that still allowed me to be in the thick of the action.

Nice to see this new forum will cover other interests too. It's been fun following other members exploits as they explore the wonderful world of pedal power. This is where my original forum name of Timetrial came from - ex time-trialist, first-cat road racer and track rider from a bygone age.

Now happy to potter round the lanes local to where I live - but as that's on the edge of the Black Mountains I can't complain!

Good to be back Smile

Nice to have you back mate. Long time no see, but have admired your work (tog) though facebook. Please do share some of those with us. We can always add another section for photography or sports photography if you get time to add some. Smile

Bike wise - Your wealth of experience will be a huge bonus on here. Can you dig some of your old TT photos out? I remember some (vaguely) that you posted on the old site. They were mint.

There's one for starters...
1997 National 50 TT Championship riding for the original Planet X Racing Team
Bike was custom built for me from very rare Excell Aero steel tubing with an even rarer matching (and again custom built) PMP Aero seatpost.
Profile Project-X Aerobars were the very first set in the UK.
Original Mavic Cosmic Carbone front wheel and a HED Lite disk rear.
54x13 fixed gear.

Thats mint. Seems crazy that it was 17 years ago! Bike designs often age quickly and stand out as 'retro' but that TT bike doesn't. Was there a £ value/cost on the bike?
