Snow Day ...
#1
Well, this is a first.
After battling (literally) to get out yesterday and only just managing to get home we've had more snow. Lots more.
So, contacted the office and explained that I cant get to my planned calls as the roads to them are closed. Plus, I'd need to dig the car/drive/road out.
I've been told to work from home today and tomorrow.

So, these are my first 'Snow Days' ... ever!

With the factory being 3 miles away the previous 26 years have seen me run or walk to work if it was this bad. We never closed. It's quite a strange feeling not going out to work. I've plenty to do - Starting with re-booking 2 weeks of appointments as there is no way I can go to Inverness next Monday!

So, anyone else partaking in a snow day or two?

Snow days are for southerners surely? I drove in today as the snow was only bad on my road (cul-de-sac) but clear on the main roads and not yet compacted - will see what tomorrow brings though!

However, with all the phone calls I've had this morning, kinda wishing I had stayed at home...

As for me I got snowed in yesterday and today. My van is shite in the snow, it must be the tread pattern of these firestones which doesn't seem to like any snow deeper the 1/2 inch. Our house is on a bit of a hill so getting back up it is a no no. Once off it the main roads seem to have been ok but with my jobs being on side streets I contacted customer and told them I'm stopping at home and hope to see them tomorrow.

I ended up getting snowed in at work - it became too dangerous to get home so slept at a mates so no snow day today for me - I'm back in the office.

Getting home tonight however will be another matter entirely... hoping they grit some roads otherwise it'll be a long night in the pub after work...

Can think of far worse places to be stuck than a pub. Smile

Still at home here. Snow has drifted and no one is going anywhere.

Bloody Northern Monkeys, went to work yesterday with no complaints BUT did come a bit early as it was coming down heavily. Luckily I did as all the BMW & Merc twats were out in force and not being able to get up the smallest incline!

Kids and Cat were off yesterday and made the most of it.

Must have been odd Kingy, being at home all day. Did you spank the monkey with the porn?

Ha ha. I wish! Has both kids off too. Plus I did have a shit load of work to do. Not just my employers work, but I've negotiated direct with a company I know on a short term lease (3-6 months) of my factory unit. Took some sorting getting everything set up but hopefully works well as it generates a few grad and when when they move out I get 6 months rate free again if I need it. That said, I may have a buyer for the unit as I've been working on that too (and he doesn't mind a sitting tenant). Throw in sorting the lease out on a shop we own - all of this in the last week and I was pleased to get the snow days as I wouldn't have got it all done without them! Whilst I love being out and about on the road - it would have been impossible to get through all of this between calls.

Fingers crossed my luck is changing. Smile
