Anyone been to Lanzarote?

Cheers guys, I didn't think there was too much but it seems like there's plenty to get stuck into. I'm presuming they drive on the wrong side of the road out there? I'm not a big fan of public transport even when I know the system in the UK so was contemplating a hire vehicle. Are they reasonably priced, or should I try and book one before hand online? Thanks for the sight seeing suggestions though
