The Amazing Spiderman 2

This is the re-boot with Andrew Garfield playing Spiderman. I quite like his geeky, awkward character compared with Toby Maguires wooden portrayal of Spiderman, but essentially the reason for watching this was that the kids fancied it.
Sadly the storyline is no better than the first. It really feels like its a plot building exercise for the third film. The villain (played by Jamie Foxx) is not nearly convincing or evil enough and Dane DeHaan playing Harry and his alter ego is, well, crap. I was also much more aware of the CGI in this film for some reason too. I started to mess with my phone several times whilst watching it but the kids enjoyed it.
For me its a 4/10 but the kids would disagree and give it a good 7/10. Given they are the target audience it just shows I'm quickly morphing into an old fart!

Quote:We've always known that Spider-Man's most important conflict has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that his greatest battle is about to begin. It's great to be Spider-Man. For Peter Parker, there's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen. But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro, Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.
