It took this to know that? I thought the fact he used two wheels without an engine would have proved it Tongue

Not running night shift this week. Our LD material was delayed until 1/2 (tomorrow) so we can't run the big extruders and tbh aren't flush with work so thought - fuck it, lets just run day shift and be normal!

So I'm working 8am to 6pm.

Bliss. I could do this all the time!

Had a lie in and left the house at 5am this morning. 30 miles on the bike, home, showered and drove into work. Bloody brilliant!
I'll do the same Wed/ Thurs and then a quick blast Friday morning (10-15 miles) and that's my weekly target smashed and I've had free evenings all week. Smile
Could get used to this normal working hours milarkey.

.... And to top it off I just dodged the rain.

Good job really as the red bike is poorly in the bike shop. BBracket is goosed (thats the first replacement bb and it's not lasted), new chain, block and gear cable required. Also need a (2nd) new front brake caliper but will wait until the salt has fooked off. I'm on the white carbon summer bike, hence wanting to try and get one longer dry ride in! (Rain forecast this evening/ tonight too).

Sounds like it's still all go go go with your training, good on ya for still managing to put the miles in.

Nobody wants a poorly bike either but some it just sounds like ware and tare apart from the replacement BBracket. What did they replace it with ? I don't think you can go far wrong if you replace them with a Hope BB, they seem to be nice piece of kit.

Cheers Nige.

With regards to replacement parts - Dunno.  Tongue
I just drop it off, get told the damage and then pick it up. I work on the principle that if the bike needs it - It has it. Never moan as they charge me for parts fitted with my discount (no labour).

I did question the BB - but Jamie said he could see it had been well greased (I was there when it was fitted and it was packed with grease) but it had been stripped out. Looks like the fecking copious amounts of excess salt they have been using every other day has done the damage.  Dodgy

Yes could be just the fact that it's had plenty of shite on it from all these wet days.
Not long ago I replaced the head set bearings on my Carbon 29er because they had gone all notchy and that was only 8 months old but they get hammered with crap and wet all the time.
I'm like you if the bike needs it it gets it, its the only way of keeping them fresh.

RE: How f'kin cold this morning! - Kingy - 02-01-2017

Today I was reminded just how good a bike with full guards is when it's pissing down. The white bike has no guards on it. It pissed down and so I had just over two hours of being bike-waterboarded! Smile Fecking soaked and grit left everywhere. Horrible. Didn't help that is was cold too so as the water was driven at me off the wheels riding into cold wind just made it feel even worse.
Still, thats the last wet day I'll do on this bike this week. It's dry tomorrow early doors and I should then have the red bike back.

So, two rides done (Tues/ Wed). 56.8 miles and just over 4000 ft of climbing logged. I'd usually be 10-20 miles ahead of this target today, but given I've just driven home and had free evenings this week I've no problem with that. Wink

You can't fault mudguards.
I use them on the mtb nd the rear one is quite long, people rip the piss and say they spoil the bike but if it saves your arse / back and seat post from getting shitted up then it can only be a good thing

RE: How f'kin cold this morning! - Kingy - 02-02-2017

Windy and wet. Bit horrible, but it was warm 'ish' so not too bad really.

85.3 miles done.
One more cheeky little 15 miler and I can rest happy for the week. Smile
