Trondheim - FraserG - 10-11-2016

Anyone ever been to Trondheim, Norway? I've been invited (and have booked flights/accommodation, etc.) to the city to give a presentation and take part in a workshop later this month. I'm flying out on the Friday and have the Saturday/Sunday to look around/be a tourist before the workshop/presentations on the Monday-Wednesday. So has anyone been? If so, anything in particular I should look at doing/going to see? Or avoid?

Not been, but looks like it could be interesting. Think it was built by Ikea.  Wink

Quote:As Norway’s third most populous area, Trondheim is more than just a city. In Trondheim’s city center there are wooden houses that showcase traditional Scandinavian architecture. Yet there are contemporary sides of Trondheim, which can be seen in its facilities and accessibility. Trondheim is undoubtedly a city with a growing interest for both local and overseas tourists. And, of course, getting a drink to chill out seems inevitable in this Norwegian city.

The most important bit: https://theculturetrip.com/europe/norway/articles/the-10-best-bars-in-trondheim-norway/ (But I'd dodge the 'Three Lions'  Rolleyes)

The Cathedral looks interesting, along with the society of science and Ringve museum. Not so keen on the decorative arts or shopping high street though. The pubs however look good. Though yes, the 'Three Lions' seems a little too footbally from the description. Who'd go to the foreign land just to watch football?? Tongue

Anything that claims to be a 'Sports Bar' needs to be given a swerve.  Big Grin

Phew I think I need some fresh air

RE: Trondheim - Kingy - 11-08-2016

So, where are the pics then?

RE: Trondheim - FraserG - 11-08-2016

Working on the right write-up to accompany them. This isn't Facebook, I can't just dump some photos for likes, you need the story into why they were taken! Plus Facebook only got a highlight of them, some new ones might work they're way here in the write up.

Don't get too anticipated though, it won't be a riveting read, but it'll be more than just "here's some pics" Wink
