It's brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Just gets better and better. Some of the WTF? moments and scenes are so good. From series three on it just goes to another level.  Cool

Did you put Narcos on here Martin? I'm sure you did.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2707408/

Quote:A chronicled look at the criminal exploits of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.

Crap IMDb description there. It's taken from the view of a young DEA Agent. His career starts as Escobars does and over time their patch cross and intertwine.
There are snipets of original footage and pictures so at time it's almost like a biography for short bursts, but it's always narrated by the DEA agent and then drops straight back into the action so it works really well.

I'm five episodes in and whilst I wouldn't agree with the 9.2 rating on IMDb (have the ratings been spammed for new series as they all seem to get great marks very quickly nowadays) I'd give it an 7.5 to 8. Well worth a watch.

Deadwood.

Now finished the three seasons. What a shame it was cancelled. Evidently it was budget reasons. HBO wanted a fourth series of 6 episodes due to costs of production, but the creator/writer said no, it needs to be twelve as each episode conveys two days of life in Deadwood. The studio pulled the plug and then there were rumours of a couple of feature length films - but that didn't come off.
Right upto the final episode of series three it was very very good. The only complaint I'd have is that new characters were introduced in series 3 who slowed the plot down too much. It wouldn't have mattered if there was a fourth series (as I'm sure the writers were planning around), but as their wasn't they were a distraction which stopped main pliots developing faster and robbed us of a finale that would have been perfect. As it is, it is 100% worth watching as the acting is superb (even Olyphants purposely wooden portrayal of Bullock) but prepare to be left wishing for more! Talks about a film have started again this year. We can only live in hope!  Big Grin

Good call on Narco' s Paul, the subtitles are a bit annoying but I suppose its for authenticity.

It's not bad is it. And yes, I hate subtitles with a passion but fortunately there aren't many.  Cool

Zoo

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3250026/

Violent animal attacks upon humans are occurring all over the world. Jackson Oz, an American zoologist who offers safaris in Africa, begins to notice the animals' strange behavior and takes it upon himself to solve the reason why before these attacks become more coordinated and ferocious.

This is a fairly good series where the animal kingdom decides to take back control of the food chain. A team of people are set the task of finding a cure to stop this outbreak. Imdb gives a 7 which is about right.

By coincidence I saw that Zoo is written by Jasmes Patterson (Im assuming it's the same one). If thats the case I'll def have a watch as I read the Alex Cross series and really enjoyed it. The Cross films weren't a patch on the books (especially the latest one) but still a good watch.

After finishing Deadwood I decided to re-visit 'Justified' as it starts Timothy Olyphant. I'm now on series two and really enjoying it. Plenty of familiar faces star in it.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1489428/

Quote:U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens is a modern day 19th century-style lawman, enforcing his brand of justice in a way that puts a target on his back with criminals and places him at odds with his bosses in the Marshal service. That conflict results in a reassignment for Givens to the U.S. District covering the town where he grew up. He is an anachronism - a tough, soft spoken gentleman who finds his quarry fascinating, but never gives an inch. Dig under his placid skin and you'll find an angry man who grew up hard in rural Kentucky, with an outlaw father, who knows a lot more about who he doesn't want to be than who he really is.

IMDb gives it a 8.7 out of 10 and I'd say thats about right. Well worth a watch.  Cool
