Quote:Phil Miller was a normal guy, but when a plague struck, he became the last man on earth. His only wish was to have company, preferably a female. When he meets a survivor named Carol, he starts to rethink his wish.

Have watched the first three eps. and this seems quite good/funny. A virus has wiped out the population, bar Phil. He desperately tries to find any other survivors before giving up and 'going native'. It's funny as you are nodding along in agreement with some of the things Phil does with everything there to be taken, but grimacing at others as Phil does things ... just because he feels there is no need to make any effort at all.

Bobs along nicely and it's obvious Phil is set to meet people and will have to re-train himself for human contact etc. Good harmless fun and well worth a watch. Another decent IMDb score of 7.6 which is fair.

Series 2 of this ^^ has just started in the US.  Smile

Heroes Reborn.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3556944/

Quote:
A year ago, a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas left the city decimated. Blamed for the tragic event, those with extraordinary abilities are in hiding or on the run from those with nefarious motives.

The Supernatural phenomenon begins again with a fresh crop of inspiring heroes who take on the ultimate struggle between those with extraordinary abilities and those with nefarious motives to hunt and harness their powers. Epic adventures await these newly empowered allies as they cross paths with some of the original characters, unlocking the mysterious fate of the universe and their place within it.

I watched this first time round. The first/original series was excellent. Really enjoyed it. The series that followed weren't though and by the end it just needed putting out of it's misery.

So, I saw this and thought I'd see if it was going to be like the fantastic first series - or a needless rebirth like the dross that followed the original. So far (two episodes in) and I'm not too impressed and will stick with it only because I'd like it to be good.

IMDb gives it 7.8, but I'd really question that. I'm looking at IMDb ratings on new series and wondering if their system is getting used in the same way you can buy facebook likes or twitter followers. Max I'd give this from what I've seen is 6/10 - and at least one mark is based on sentimentality.
I'll let you know if it gets any better, but if you are new to it (and so won't know the characters) I wouldn't bother as it will bore you.

Blacklist started a couple of weeks ago, seems to be as good as where it left off.

Walking dead series 6 starts tonight watched the 3min trailer and it looks like it's going to be a good one. (Here's hoping)

Yes, I've watched the first (new) episode of Blacklist and enjoyed it. Looking forward to TWD and like you hope we get some good episodes. Smile

Well Walking Dead commenced, took a bit of working out flipping between black and white and colour. Until I realised it was past tense and present.

But it did start in an odd place and made you feel like you'd missed an episode, don't want to give too much away as it'l be a spoiler.

Agree Martin. I quite liked it as I think they were trying to convey the feeling of confusion in the group as they moved on from last seasons finale. Thought it was a solid episode to start off with.

Also watched the second episode of Homeland (Series 5). This too has had a good start and is quite enjoyable.

Just watched episode 4 of The Walking Dead and I've gotta say its the best yet. Really strong episode centred around Morgans story, gives you a real insight into why he is what he is.

The series is the best yet by far.

I'll catch up on it tonight. Looking forward to it. Can't believe how this season has taken off. Relentless speed. We normally wait five episodes for it to get going. Agree completely that this series is something else.

On another not - Finished 'Justified' yesterday. Final series actually aired earlier this year. Thoroughly enjoyed it and so glad I went back to it after writing it off half way into the first episode a few years back.

Not watched justified but will give it a go i'm running out of decent series to watch on my own. I mistakenly got Sarah into blacklist and blindspot so can't watch them without her consent.

Into the Badlands

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3865236/

Quote:A mighty warrior and a young boy search for enlightenment in a ruthless territory controlled by feudal barons.

This has just started in USA on the AMC channel. I watched the first episode last night. It's a good opening so I'll stick with it for a while. Hard to give a score out of ten based on one episode but IMDb rates it at 8.5 for whatever that is worth.
It is a little Tarantino-esque (in a good way) with the fight scenes, but without too much blood/gore. Think along the lines of Kill Bill.
